“PROTASI ’S” APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The privately owned two stories building of movement “PROTASI”, which shelters the Center of Creative Occupation (CCO) and is located at 20 Sarantaporou Street, Patras, constitutes an important place, hosting a variety of activities.
At the ground floor of the building, which was recently renovated, operates the “STEKI” (cafe), the workshops and the groups of the (CCO), seminars and educational programs of PROTASI and the Prevention Center of Achaia county, as well as cultural and other kinds of happenings.

The first floor shelters the offices and the meeting rooms, used by the groups of “PROTASI” as well as the groups of youngsters.

Due to the earthquake of 2008 in Patras, major damages were generated on the first floor, which needed to be immediately restored. When we applied to the relevant state service (TAS), a compensation of 40.000 euros was approved for the restitution of the damages. Due to the antiquity of the building, we were forced to intervene more extended than we expected, so the reconstruction works are now overcoming the 85.000 euros.

Therefore “PROTASI” needs to raise the missing amount necessary for the continuation of the constructional works in order to keep up with safety the upcoming school year. The constructional works have already started and are evolving.

“PROTASI” makes an appeal to individuals, enterprises, institutions, authorities and other agencies for economic support. In parallel, the administration board has programmed a series of activities such as: financial reinforcement coupons, festivities, concert etc. in order to obtain the missing amount of money.

Really moving is the fact that two of the NGO’s in Patras, the Family Union of Therapeutic Community “BRIDGE” and ΚΟΙΝΟ_ΤΟPΙΑ, immediately corresponded by offering a financial support to PROTASI.

It is well known that PROTASI doesn’t receive any regular funding for the prevention work which is implemented for the last 23 years in Patras. The financial resources of the agency are coming from the fees of our members, donations from supporting members, the subscriptions and advertisements of the magazine ‘PROSOPO’, as well as some other events.

The total of the volunteers, members as well as the major networks developed by PROTASI in local, national and international level, consist an important source of energy and support of our work.

The citizens stimulation as well as the benefit received by the services offered by “PROTASI” (groups and children workshops, groups and adults seminars and others) consist our only reason of the existence and evolution.

PROTASI exists and is developed because of the fact that it corresponds to real needs. During these difficult moments that the citizens have a bigger need of our services, it is crucial that we are able to continue.
