MOVEMENT FOR ANOTHER LIFESTYLE

    PROFILE

  • PROTASI is a movement of volunteers who act as multipliers in the local community for the prevention of Drugs and the better quality of life for the young people.
  • PROTASI was founded in 1988 in Patras - GREECE and remains the one of the most important organizations in community education and active citizenship.

    ORGANIZATION

  • The members of PROTASI work in groups
  • The teachers group
  • The parents group
  • The youth workers group
  • The public relations and financial support group
  • The prevention of alcohol to teenagers group
  • The cultural activities group
  • The new comers group
  • The Administration Council

    METHODOLOGY

  • The groups take the priorities and the guidelines from the AC, make their own plan, implement and evaluate their interventions and transfer their results to the AC which in its turn concentrates the all the results and proceeds to the next policies and strategies.
  • The members of the groups are trained in their roles and also take care of their own personal growth to act as multipliers in local community.

    NETWORKS AND COOPERATIONS

  • PROTASI has built a lot of local and national networks with authorities, individuals, agencies, companies, organizations with the aim to spread the prevention projects and intervene in situations and fields which affect the quality of life for adults and young people.
  • PROTASI also participates to national and international networks and organizations with the aim to offer and profit also from new ideas and experiences.

    FINANCIAL SUPPORT

  • PROTASI is self sustained by the fees of its members, sponsors, activities and projects.
  • As a non profit, non government organization the financial support is unstable and it is mainly based on volunteer work which part of its philosophy.

    PRODUCTS

  • The magazine PROSOPO is issued every 3 months by a group of volunteers since 1993
  • The Centre of Creative Occupation is a youth Centre with almost 50 kids ( 8-18 years) who are activated in groups of art every weekend. In parallel there are workshops running for kids between 3and 8 years old.
  • The café is a place in the CCO where young people gather once a week communicate and organize cultural activities.

    PROGRAMS

    The days programmes are for students in high schools who come to the CCO and participate to information and sensitation projects concerning:
  • The prevention of drugs
  • The protection of the environment
  • The peace in school
  • The safety in and out of school.
